SHARING YOUR CHIPWIT (IBOL CODES)

The Workshop Menu button icon (above)

The IBOL Code Sharing System allows players to share their ChipWit’s program with others easily. This is especially useful when you’re proud of a ChipWit you’ve created or need feedback and suggestions from the ChipWits community.

How to Share Your ChipWit With Someone Else Using An IBOL Code #

  1. Prepare Your ChipWit: Ensure that your ChipWit’s chips are arranged and pre-placed in the Workshop grid.
  2. Export the IBOL Code:
    • Go to the Workshop Menu (represented by an icon of 3 stacked lines).
    • Select the option “Copy ChipWit to Clipboard.“
    • This action generates a code that represents your ChipWit’s exact chip configuration.
  3. Share the Code: Once copied to your clipboard, you can share the IBOL code with friends or the ChipWits community by pasting it in a message or forum

When you paste an IBOL code into a message, email, or something else that accepts text input it will look something like this:

The more complex the ChipWit, the longer the IBOL code will be.

How to Use an IBOL Code #

  1. Copy the IBOL code from the source (be that the friend that is giving you, another member in the ChipWits community, etc).
  2. Export the IBOL Code:
    • Go to the Workshop Menu (represented by an icon of 3 stacked lines).
    • Select the option “Paste ChipWit From Clipboard.”
    • This will populate all of the Chips and place them in the Workshop grid identically to the parent code. It will overwrite any pre-place Chips that are in the Workshop.
  3. Share the Code: Once copied to your clipboard, you can share the IBOL code with friends or the ChipWits community by pasting it in a message, email, or forum

Why to Store Your Own IBOL Codes #

  • Make different versions of the same program/ChipWit: As you refine a ChipWit’s programming you may want to “back up” what you currently have so you don’t have to revert your code manually through the Workshop Undo button later should you decide to take your programming in a different direction. By saving your own IBOL codes you can easy revert (or jump to different versions) of your own programming.
  • Requesting help: Allows you to share your ChipWit should you become stuck, or wish to have someone help you refine your ChipWit’s programming.
  • Helping others: Some are visual learners and are helped greatly by seeing an example of what a smartly coded ChipWit looks like and is able to do; sharing a ChipWit’s IBOL code is one way to do this.

Why IBOL Code Sharing Matters #

  • Collaboration: Share your ChipWit’s program with others to get feedback, suggestions, or improvements.
  • Showcasing: Display your successful ChipWits to the community, allowing others to learn from your programming.
  • Community Engagement: Collaborate on mission solutions or optimize ChipWits together by sharing and refining code.
  • Being Creative!: Share a song for your ChipWit to Sing! See who can make the ChipWit that can FAIL at an objective the most effectively for fun instead!

This sharing system fosters collaboration and helps players build on each other’s ideas while perfecting their ChipWits!
