  3. If a pie is detected, place the Pickup chip to collect it.
  4. After the Pickup chip, you can add another Skate Forward chip to continue moving forward and repeat the process.

History #

“PickUp” as it appears in various historic incarnations of ChipWits!

COMMODORE 64:

Manual Entry:
“A CHIPWIT can pick up most Things with its electro-hydraulic manipulator, which automatically appears through the cranial access port when needed. Picking up useful objects can have beneficial effects. Pie and Coffee, for instance, will increase a CHIPWIT’s energy level. But trying to grab Electro-Crabs or Bombs can really hurt! The manipulator is activated with this chip.”

APPLE II:

Manual Entry:
“PICK UP commands the ChipWit to reach directly ahead one space (floor tile) for a Thing. PICK UP is used to acquire disks and oil for points, and pie and coffee for fuel. If the ChipWit attempts to PICK UP a bomb, it will be blown up. If it attempts to PICK UP a bouncer, electro-crab, or a wall, it will sustain damage.  There are no Arguments for the PICK UP Operator. The ChipWit will try to PICK UP whatever is on the tile directly in front of it. If nothing is there, it will reach just the same.”
