We’re excited to share a big ChipWits feature drop including ultra-wide monitor support, more keyboard shortcuts, top-10 scores, and the ability to drag the camera with the middle mouse. Come check it out!
Support for ultra-wide monitors, and better handling of non-16:9 aspect ratios
While some game scenes are still letterboxed, the main game scene will now adapt to the size of your monitor, and the game will no longer malfunction on ultra-wide monitors.

Improved keyboard support
Many of our players prefer using keyboard over mouse, and so we spent a lot of time on this release making the keyboard experience better, especially in the IBOL workshop. There’s still more we can do, but this release includes:
- A hotkey page, listing all the keyboard shortcuts (click the Field Manual button)
- The Chip Grid is selected by default when in edit mode
- Alt + arrow keys to change the connector direction for all selected chips
- PgUp + PgDn to switch subpanels
- All action menus in the Radial Menu now have keyboard shortcuts
- All modal dialogs have a default button, so you can press Enter instead of clicking
Let us know in the comments what you think of the new keyboard support, and if there are additional keyboard improvements you’d like to see!

“Quick buffers”
We have a new, experimental feature we’re calling “quick buffers”. You can select one or more chips and press Alt+1-8 to copy those chips into a buffer. You can then paste that buffer where the cursor is simply by pressing 1-8. The buffer survives when you exit and come back to the game. This lets you build your own palette of shortcuts.
Top 10 scores
While the histogram is great at showing where you stand statistically, our top players wanted to know exactly how far away they were from claiming the top spot, especially in our challenge puzzles. In this release, we’ve added a top-10 tab.

For those who prefer playing more privately, you also have the option to hide your Steam username or not submit your score.
Dragging the camera
One frequent request from our players is the ability to temporarily move the camera around. This is useful for missions where you start at one side but wish to see what the rest of the space looks like. You can now drag the camera with the middle mouse button (or Command / Windows + Left click if you don’t have a middle mouse button). The view will snap back to be centered on your ChipWit when you let go.
What features would you like to see?
We hope you enjoy this feature drop as much as we enjoyed making it. Almost all of the features we added were due to direct feedback from our player community!
We want to hear more so we can incorporate your ideas into future ChipWits feature drops. Let us know in the comments section or Discord Server what other features and enhancements you’d like to see!
